Explain the significance of cultural awareness for carers in understanding and respecting diverse backgrounds and preferences.

Module 3: Infections, Nutrition & Food Safety
Upon completing this module, you will have the ability to: Define the symptoms of various illnesses and articulate strategies for their prevention and treatment. Discuss the universal precautions that care workers must adhere to when working with clients. Explain the significance of ensuring clients receive adequate nutrition and hydration. Develop the skills to prepare meals tailored to clients with specific dietary requirements. Recognize and prevent all types of foodborne illnesses.

Module 4: Emergencies, Falls & Fire Safety
Learning Outcomes After completing this module you will be able to: List the actions that should be taken in an emergency with a client. Call for emergency assistance in a calm and professional manner. Explain the symptoms and treatment methods of a range of medical emergencies including: seizures, strokes and anaphylactic shock. Develop the ability to prepare meals for clients with special dietary requirements. Summarise how to react if a client suffers a fall when in your care. Outline how to react in case of a fire and how to operate a fire extinguisher.
